Awarding Innovative Leaders In Financial Supervision With Funding Support And Access To Unique Opportunities
Are you ready to lead the digital transformation of financial sector supervision? Do you want to drive innovation and the growth of the global suptech movement? We invite you to embark on a transformative journey with the Cambridge SupTech Lab Innovation Leaders Residency programme.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
We invite current employees of financial authorities in roles such as supervisors, examiners, data scientists, statisticians, economists, and other related positions to join this 12-month part-time, remote programme.
As an Innovation Leader, you may be awarded:
A stipend: To support your journey towards excellence.
Unique training: To enhance your skills and competencies.
Research and networking opportunities: To raise your international profile as a leader in financial supervision.
Fundraising support: To bring your ideas to life and contribute to the development of new suptech solutions.
The application form will first ask about your contact details and role, followed by short questions about the impact you hope to have and your suptech-related interests. You will be able to submit your CV or other supporting information.
ELIGIBILITY, BENEFITS & RESPONSIBILITIES
TO BE ELIGIBLE YOU MUST:
- Be currently employed at a financial authority.
- Have a track record of implementing innovative strategies and be motivated to accelerate digital transformation through suptech solutions.
- Be available (part-time, remotely) from January to December 2024.
This hackathon is open to teams or individuals with skills in data science and analysis, business analysis, product management, software development, database administration, data visualization, team leaders, and/or other skills valuable in exploring solutions using advanced technology.
- Business Analyst
- You understand how to link problems with technology solutions and can talk the language of the technologists and users
- Data Engineer or DBA
- You understand the nuances of piping data from source to storage, such as the value of a well-designed schema and the merging of multiple datasets
- Product Specialist or Developer
- You can think through how to develop and design a product that will meet the needs of the different users and be viable to implement
- Team Leader
- In addition to a team role, you will be responsible for curating your team, managing its timeline and deliverables, and acting as point person for organizers
- Data Visualisation Designer
- You can make data and insights pop. Designing interfaces that are intuitive and clear
- Data Scientists and Data Analysts
- You are able to build usable views and valuable insights from complex data. Spotting opportunities for advanced data analytics and identifying schema requirements

IN RETURN WE ASK YOU TO:
- Commit to engage with the community for the length of the programme.
- Share your learnings with colleagues.
- Remain with your agency for two years after programme conclusion.

While we encourage our leaders to allocate time to immerse themselves in suptech-related research and implementation efforts, we also understand your busy schedule. Our goal is to empower you to enhance your capabilities, becoming more effective and efficient in your work, rather than adding to your burdens. As the programme offers a range of optional opportunities, the time commitment will be flexible and tailored to your unique interests. On average, we estimate that each leader will invest approximately 5 hours per month in the Innovation Leaders Residency.

When is the application deadline?

When does the programme start and end?
The selected Resident Innovation Leaders will be onboarded to their residency in January 2024 and offboarded in December 2024.
Is there a cost to participate in the programme?
No. Selected Resident Innovation Leaders may receive a monthly stipend and will have access to manifold additional benefits outlined on this webpage.
Can I nominate someone else?
Yes, you are welcome to nominate a colleague, mentor, mentee, or friend that you believe would make a great candidate for the Innovation Leaders Residency.
Which countries are eligible to participate?
The programme is global, however a number of seats are reserved for applicants from emerging markets and developing economies.
How much time do I need to dedicate to participate in the Innovation Leaders Residency?
Given that the majority of the opportunities are optional, time dedicated to the programme will depend on each selected leader’s unique interests. We calculate that on average each leader will dedicate around 5 hours per month to the Innovation Leaders Residency. In addition, leaders will be encouraged to dedicate time to engaging in suptech related research and implementation efforts leveraging their monthly stipend.
