Keynote: Matt Grasser – Mindful Design of Digital Products

Matt Grasser, Co-Head of the Cambridge SupTech Lab, explains how the mindful design of digital products and services allows us to unlock the real world value these offerings can provide. Illustrated through a series of anecdotes drawn from a wealth of personal, cross-industry experiences, he emphases key insights including: the need and responsibility to commit to putting users before technology, to engage in “supervisor-centered” design, and in the case of financial supervision, to anchor suptech applications to these principles by putting people – supervisors, supervised entities, and customers – first. Finally, he shares practical examples of how this ethos can be applied through design sprints and other human-centered design techniques, which can effect novel and impactful outcomes that can only come out from thinking outside the box.
